How is the medication taken?

There are two ways GLP-1 medications in this program are administered: orally and via injection.

  1. Oral medications are taken daily.
  2. Injectable medications are taken weekly. The injectable method is currently more common and is administered with a small insulin needle. You can inject this below the level of the skin in your abdomen, the outside of your thigh, or the outside of your upper arm.

For further instructions on injecting the medicines, read through this guide on giving an injection, watch this video on using a semaglutide injection pen, or watch this video on how to give yourself a “Sub-Q” injection.
